I Have Been Her Kind

"haunting the black air, braver at night.......
...lonely thing, twelve fingered, out of mind......
.....I have been her kind."
Anne Sexton

I Have Been Her Kind

I float above....
a cloud, unto myself
my heart a stone experiment
A woman slightly bent

My shapely legs
beneath a dowdy skirt
My sensual lips
turned down with hurt
Leaf brown to love
A woman not defined

An all renouncing mind
Where trust has flown
on dark befuddled wings
A woman, prey to death

 I have been her kind

Dear Suz - I wish I hadn't missed this one, but am enthralled today. My, you find the essence in the torture of Sylvia Plat's poetry and life. Well well well done. There are too many exquisite phrases to quote you. On that dark note - Merry Christmas (that would drive Sylvia into a spin - Christmas) love, Kathy

A very deep poem, Suz. I really liked the imagery. It's so unusual. Was it for a contest?
