I Can Smile

I can smile So he said Write me a love poem So I joked Have me in your dreamy naps So he said What happened to the mother of second chances He asked and I laughed Somewhere in the cellular matter of little details The doubled glasses only stained the vision Somewhere in the unequal waves of commitment The mind's power was endlessly plagued In a strained relationship Tugs and wars took center stage Claiming the forbidden trophy again Of a never ever love.

Wow! This one struck a seven! the word phrasing is spot-on. Sounds to me, Njeri, that you have strong convictions about love, and if the other half is not fulfilling his part, then where is love. Great write. Always Ken
