I Am the Batman
I awoke at the bottom of a dry well
Frozen in time with no recollection of the fall
Or of where or who I was in this abysmal
But I rose and stood tall to answer the call
I could hear the echoes of my heartbeat
My visual cortex interpreted from them sight
The blinded boy I was, died of fear that night
There in the cold darkness, moulded a brave knight
I was cocooned in the company of bats
My bare skin preyed upon by ravenous rats
From deep inside the desolation of the cave
I lay dying on a skeleton, confusion laden grave
A kiss of life from the messenger of death
A deep gasp to revive the would be sentinel of Gotham
The batman was born from this metamorphosis
To become a hero and the symbol of hope and justice
