Humanity
My nails are black,
My eyes rimmed in nothing,
the absence of color,
Black,
Like my soul,
I'm rained on by horror,
A constant darkness above me,
Swallowing me deep within,
The nature of life,
Is to spread genes,
Across the world,
Just like darkness,
As the Earth tilts away,
Half of we, the forgotten,
Are cast into shadow,
So deep, so dark,
We vanish into nothingness,
We struggle to stay bright,
We fight a losing battle,
In the end, our light will die,
Our sun will die like us,
And all of what we call,
Humanity,
Will be gone,
Will we?
Will we be away,
On another world in time?
Will the world be blacker?
So cut throat is the world,
As it is.
Humanity is darkness,
To live is to struggle,
You cannot see the future,
You swim in the ocean of darkness,
Never knowing what's ahead,
Struggle to stay afloat,
Only to be drowned by passing ship,
That is our humanity.
And I embrace this dark,
I do not fight the tide,
I let the flow sweep me away,
Into the waves,
I surf the darkness,
And one day I'll wipe out,
But will I make an impact?
Will the judge give me,
I, surfer of darkness,
The trophy that is,
A better place?
Free of that hateful thing....
Humanity?
