Hugs
Of course I hugged my children.
It was the natural thing to do
and a few of their friends have asked
for a motherly hug too.
As for friends, I didn't hug them,
didn't want to get too near
for fear of seeming bolder
than I wanted to apear.
But now that I am older,
my friends often get a hug,
for like me, sometimes they're lonely
and they give my heart a tug.
Some really seem to like it
and return my friendly hug.
A very few have pulled away.
They don't like it..Oh well..shrug.
