My heart is broken Shattered like smashed glass Shards pierce my tortured soul All I can do is ask …… why? Why … why did you desert me when I needed you so … You smiled that smile for the last time The smile that attracted me to you in the first place Your mouth curling up at the corners revealing those dimples… Oh I could never resist dimples … You were surrounded by machines … they were keeping you alive Then suddenly the machine stopped beeping … There was nothing else that could be done Goodbye my love …….. gone forever My thanks to Arthur Vaso for bringing this form called Infinite Dot Thirteen Verse to my attention 4th April 2015

Thankfully it is pure imagination on my part James - I am so glad I wasn't there with dad at the end I don't think i could have coped - not that he was on any machines or the like. Am in such a good place my friend - despite the poems I am coming up with i have to simply go with the flow of my pen:-) Hugs jan xx

Great write, Jan, very moving. I spent many days of twelve hour shifts at my Mother's bedside in hospital until I was told to take a day off, exhausted. That was the day she went, and I was the only family member not there at the time. Took some getting over, I can tell you. Viv x

This is totally a fiction write on my behalf Viv - I can't begin to imagine the pain you felt not being their at the end but you had been their for her before and your health was suffering - dad passed about 15 minutes after they called us to go up to the hospice but we know it was his way not for us to be there at the end - he didn't even want us to accompany the hearse to the crematorium. Love and hugs jan xx

Pure fiction on my part I was simply inspired by Arthur's poem - With dad we arrived at hospice too late - he'd slipped away peacefully with no pain and no machines - just a blessing he is at peace now:-) Hugs jan xx
