House Flies

Now what? I utter under my breath What's next on my list of subjects? I know, I'll write about house flies! That should stir things up I suspect Much maligned, they have a purpose Not sure what that purpose might be So I looked it up on good old Google They're the greatest carrier of disease That's really not what I expected to find Thought they had some redeeming factor Seems that's all these insects are good for If you can, run 'em over with a tractor Swat 'em, stomp on 'em, any old time Try aiming for the females if you can Each can lay approximately 500 eggs It's for the overall good health of man! © Jack Ellison 2012

Disgusting things they are for sure! The worst are those big bluebottle flies that hang around the barnyard then zero in on your plate. I'll be reminded of your solutions next summer Jack. Love, Lizzie

Ahhh-but the perspective of the "Fly on the Wall" is quite different! Glad I'm not one, though. Hate the skeeters too! Sounds like another poem coming on!

I tried to swat every single one of them if they come into my house (female or not), lol. They are a nuisance. I guess they are good for something - some animals I suppose. I am sure birds eat them. But they are so fast so I don't see how birds can catch up with them. Otherwise, they are good for nothing. Did you see how some of them can be pretty? With the green color in them - but YUK. Happy New Year, Jack :)

You are my hero, dear Toquyen! Never seen a pretty fly in my whole life although some nature channels try to colour them pretty! They're ugly and a menace to us guys! KILL THEM! LOL Love and hugs, Jack xox
