Hope Washed Away

Drenching cold in every fiber Washing away the little girl Who once believed she could fix anything With hope... Clinging to spiky reality Like a tuft of white fur to a filthy branch So painfully determined, Yet unrelenting rain; Torrents of raw emotions And mudslides of despair Saturate and smear her fragile innocence Her hope will dwindle, Slowly drowned Until nothing more Remains Of that child In the rain
