Hoot the Dog

Old Hoot was a good old dog A good old dog in deed The finest dog there ever was Caught every coon he ever treed Chase anything that had four legs And catch them most the time His average was pretty good So we ate pretty fine Well Hoot he didn't hear to well And it finished him I fear When he was after a coon one night And the train he couldn't hear They had run through brush and brambles Over hill and over dale They had run till they could run no more When he went to cross the rail We gave him a mighty fine send off Like no dog ever has But I'm afraid he went to heaven Thinking that Raccoon got his ass
