Home Sweet Home
Homelessness causes my mind to wander
Obviously to the times with no friends
Mama lying face down on the floor
Either in a stupor or from exhaustion
She had six different looking kids
With a daddy who never came home
Evidently, she was not married
Escaping from truth with anxious lies
There were times when we didn't eat
Had no bread and no one to help out
Occasions were only for other kids
Me and my sisters and brothers left
Eager to go in search of a new life
