His Gentle Soul
As he sat down beside me
His words did I embrace
The shining light that I did see
That shone upon his face
His kindness overflowed
Like I had never seen before
As his love he shared and showed
To me from within his life’s store
His pride of love and life
Were o so fresh and clear
For his son and his wife
He held o so very dear
To know he had helped give
To the navy part of his soul
To help others to live
Was a special part of his goal
As was his strong soul mate
Connected to him so close had grown
To know that feeling was never too late
No matter how long the seeds were sown
To brighten up that light within
So love and kindness I could see
That man is not all about sin
And his gentle soul set me free
