Hapless

Hapless days have come and passed In memory they remain but only in my mind Every moment every task assigned Looking back its picture perfect Though only pain is what it brought Born a saint though with every sin I become a sinner And sinners are born only to live and die There was once a day or so I thought that the air we breathe that is now is poison was once not We promised a success but failure was all we showed We built up walls to protect but it constricted us in the end We were the protectors now the bond is surely broken And without purpose a soul can only wander And so I'm fleeting just as time
