Halloween Queen
Tonight is Halloween
And every witch is a queen
She’ll reign from midnight to daylight
On this witching night
Far and wide she will ride
Across the country side
With a broom for a chariot
And her magic to carry it
With clothes all unkempt
And hair stringy and limp
She knows she looks a fright
But she has only tonight.
There is no time for beauty
After all, a queen has her duty.
There are tricks to be played
And mischief to be made
There will be no one to love her
Even the animals run for cover
And the trees all seem to sigh
As she passes by
There is a stillness in the night
At such an awesome sight
When the dark shadows loom
Of a queen on a broom
