To get to that tasty blueberry bush we have to face the serpents! Reminds me of Adam and Eve in God's Garden. Thanks for visiting my poem, Jan, and I've read some of your other recent contest poems as well. So good luck in the contests. :) Darlene

Thank you, Kim, but I must confess that this haiku wasn't based on a memory. A photo of a snake in a blueberry bush was in our daily newspaper and that's what inspired me.

Reminds me of picking mushrooms with my mom and came across a pack of garter snakes. Did we ever get out of that place fast. Not sure what a bunch of snakes are called. Anyway watch picking those berries. love phyl

Blueberry picking reminds me of my grandma. When I visited her in New Jersey as a little girl, she would take me picking. I have wonderful memories, and I'm happy I never saw any snakes! Great haiku, Kim! Hugs, Rhonda

Thanks for stopping by, Cona! To be honest, I've never picked blueberries. This haiku is based on a photo in our local newspaper, of a snake in the middle of a blueberry bush.

I enjoyed this image, Kim! So you are numbering your haiku. You are building up quite a collection of them.

Thank you, Andrea! Since haiku aren't supposed to have titles I decided to start numbering them. The problem with that is I can't remember what each numbered haiku is about. So now I'm numbering them and then putting a dash with a brief description.
