Green-Eyed Devil
Jealous
that's how she makes me feel
when I know that you've got your arm around her
and not me
She's soft and smooth, coos like a dove
and yet it's unknown, it's not you she loves
She's using you, just as she has
a thousand others, a thousand times
All smiles and hair tosses until
the real one she wants walks by
The blond beauty that I'll
never be
She flirts and talks with the one I love
the love that cannot be
Ensnaring and trapping,
a spider in its web
A million flies on the waiting list
and yet she drinks your blood
She'll let you go when all you have to offer
is a reservoir, sucked dry
And then she'll throw you to the dogs
laughing all the way
when I pull you out of the ruins
I'll have so much to say
I'll start with the green-eyed monster
I'll chase that girl away
For although she may look quite like me
she won't be here to stay.
