Grains of Sand
The last grains in the hourglass
Fall through and come to rest with their brothers
Will I come to rest with my brothers? Or be blown away by the winds?
In an expanse of dying trees and frozen amber
I am a single grain of sand
Yearning for the dunes of old
Molded by the hands of God
Under the desert moon
We reveled in the rain
And danced in the breeze
We erased our pain
And prayed on our knees
The twister tore through our ranks
And scattered us far and wide
Yet one day we will unite again
In the sea of sands
And revel under the desert moon
In memory of my grandmother, God rest her soul. Love is your legacy.
