Grace and Glory
...inspired by 'The Garden' by W.H. Auden
Walls confine the fragrant beauty there,
jealous that another's eyes might see
the colors regimented and displayed
in seasons, as the blossoms are set free.
But innocents who watch through children's eyes,
the lovelorn, yet with faith still burning,
the dispossessed, who's hope is still alive
will pray, revitalize their yearning.
A blanket for their grief and sorrows,
comfort for the lost and broken hearted,
peace the unrepentant cannot know.
A haven where these hungry souls may go
to guarantee their sanctified tomorrows,
from grace and glory never to be parted.
