Stick figure trees looking hand drawn and gray
Waving in the breeze as they greet the new day
Frolicking squirrels are having their way
Chasing each other around as they play
Red breasted robins are hunting fat worms
Sleepy sun lights the morning as the earth slowly turns
Fallen dew sparkles like diamonds on ferns
Traffic starts stirring as busy neighbors churn
Winter grass has traded it's gold for green
Tree buds are swollen in anticipation of spring
The mockingbird's busy gathering treasures of string
And the morn comes alive as a choir of birds sing
While I look out my window with a smile on my face
My friend gets excited by a cat he can chase
My mood is light as my mind's in a good place
Just thankful I'm alive under a blessing of grace
