Golden Moment
Years have passed since we have known
the silence of our nest
the tears have come and gone my friend
for times we loved the best
our hands grow old, and bones are weary
from a lifetimes worth of tests
but it is still your company
I cherish above the rest
and as the sun sets on our golden years
I feel I must confess,
I’ve known more joy and laughter
my life’s been truly blessed
For once upon a time I found
a friend, and who’d have guessed
that in one golden moment
we’d seal a lifetime with a kiss.
