God's Route
Does it come from a distant lagoon,
Or is it born in the circuitry of my brain?
Perhaps it lives in a crater on the moon
And arrives on earth with summer rain.
Some never discover a celestial fact,
Disavowing faith in every fashion.
But hunches that help them safely act
May be a gift from a heavenly ration.
Some mock the Christ-sent Holy Spirit,
Considering His companionship infernal.
His voice is soft, but the faithful hear it
And the peace it imparts is eternal.
You are free to believe what you will
But of this truth you can be assured:
You will live life with consummate skill
By taking the route God has secured.
