Give It Time
Give it time
And it’ll all be reduced to silence
The sea, the wind
Give it time
And it all will end
For time is a taker
And it never forgets
Nothing passes through time unscathed
Nothing
Time is given anyway, without you having to ask
It is an imposed tax
A void larger than the human heart
Constantly needing to be fed
And it thrives on and consumes all in existence
Give it time
The music, the songs, the wars
Give it time
And you silence it
The stealer of hopes
Of anything significant, and everything insignificant
For time is a cancer
It heals nothing
It is a false hope
Time is selfish
A foolish notion
Because there’s never enough of it
It reduces everything and everyone
To zero
It seeks to rule and it has no equal
If we don’t stop it, it’ll take over the universe
Its aim is nothing, and everything
Its end complete domination through reduction
So why give it time?
