Getting Out

A walk in the park on a cool summer morning Refreshing as all “get out” Those last two words actually do say it all “Getting out” is what's life's all about If we're stuck in front of a keyboard all day We miss the glories of nature The smells, the sunshine, the cool summer breeze The first crisp snow of December Old Mother Nature in her multitude of pleasures Never fails to impress us each day No other feeling is quite so intense As the smell of some new mown hay What I'm saying is this plain and simple Be thankful for every day given Eventually the pleasures you once experienced Will vanish as onward we're driven A walk in the park on a cool summer morning Refreshing as all “get out” © Jack Ellison 2013

I'm a city guy. But, the smell of newly mown hay is invigorating. I appreciate those things. Another enjoyable & playful piece! =)

My roots are in a small town but circumstances have made me a city boy like you! But still love getting out and enjoying nature! Thank you my good friend!

I have set up my computer in front of my 9 ft slidding glass door... Weather permitting. I'm 3 ft away from the bird feeder .. A squirrel climbs my screen to get inside some times... and can see when the neighbors come outside... Dragon and I visit them when they do... Gee... They seem to be coming out less and less... Must be Dragon... LOL... Then I take Dragon on walkies past their front yards... No one is safe from Dragon and me... Awww Gee... Come back you guys... come back... LOL
