While browsing in a second hand book store The blue cover of your book caught my eye. Your first edition then guided my path Into reading your wondrous words of love. Quite new to the engagement of your works I stood reading as near an hour flew by. I became enthralled and mesmerized too. Your classic speech bared salubrious style. As the longing in your words permeate, Your philosophy of life and living. This be my pattern to which I succumb Trying to emulate words of your song. Trying to guild my words into flowing Into gifts I never dreamed to possess. I felt this magical pull emanate To venerate psalms that dwell in my heart. 6-1-17 Blank Verse II - Poetry Contest Sponsor Janice Canerdy

Hi Connie, good luck in the contest. This is a winner no matter what happens in the contest. I agree that Lord Byron's poetry has stood the test of time. It still means as much to the reader now as it did in days gone by. In this excellent piece one can actually feel the love of the poet and his work. Just know, whatever happens in the contest you have a winner. You always are a winner with your poetry. This is a definite seven. Hugs....Mike. XX

I was of a similar mind, but didn't write it, at least not yet - my hero was Thoreau who I came to know researching his life for a report in the 11th grade. You gave poetry lick for poetry lick in this tribute to Byron. Wouldn't it be cool if years from now someone was writing such about you? You never know! Beautimous and lovely. Poetry and friendship hugs ...CayCay

I remember reading somewhere once what some famous writer did so ably remark upon: "A great poet brings us into their lives...And lets us see what they themselves see". No one has done it better than Byron! I suspect he would be rather pleased and surprised to find that nearly 200 years after his premature death he was still loved and venerated. I think he would have given a slow, broad smile and a humble nod at your worthy poem, Connie. All my very best as always. :) john
