Gentle Death

I’m unwanted and un-kept My eyes alone show I’ve wept A second chance should fate allow A dreamless sleep is best for now Taken in your hands of care My need no longer to beware Silent tears you shed for me No pain I feel…at last I’m free.

This is very heartfelt. The best thing you could ever do for them is alleviate their suffering. That's what love is for really. I'm sure your pet (I have a dog myself) cherished you.
