Friendship's Rest
When I think of being blue and cry
I remember the joy within
I hear your sunny voice and try
to bring a smile, a laugh, a grin.
You call from distant shores now
to see if I am feeling well,
freeing me from my lonely vow
just by your ring, an anthem bell.
I tell you tall tales and short
and hear your giggles down the line
You tell me yours, as if at court,
these truly are the best of times.
Reassured, valued, loved and blessed
your friendship and care bring me rest.
