Friends, Lovers or Nothing

You are no longer in my life;
for our love had a very sad demise.
The feelings still stir up at times;
making me wish I could redraw the fading lines.
As i try remembering how it all began;
from friends you went on to becoming my man.
Guess i watched too many romantic flicks;
me a sweet girl, you the bad boy did the trick.
We spoke to each other day in day out;
sharing our fantasies and deepest thoughts aloud.
To you my love I always patiently listened;
with your joys and sadness my eyes glistened.

You looked divine in your favorite black attire;
you’d come close, your breath felt like zephyr
We’d hug like long lost friends not willing to let go;
then you’d put up the cutest best lover’s show
Still can’t forget the day you made coffee for me;
the most promising moment I had with thee.
I was glad your hair always hid your eyes;
could barely look into them, would have revealed all the lies.

Me I didn’t share for long i was falling for you;
was just afraid feeling wouldn't be mutually true.
Because you were this charming prince, with a mesmerizing voice;
You'd sing, play guitar and the chics would make lot of noise.
And I, best all rounder except for being in love;
but I guess someone smiled from heaven above.
You happily ignored all my gawkiness;
Chipping in with moves to make me adept at lover’s finesse.
Well some were just naughty, some sure rung a bell;
blind I became as if you were casting a spell.
With a lot of passion you said you’d want to kiss;
I gasped, I never thought something’s amiss.
You persisted, I wasn't sure nevertheless I gave in;
only to hear you later relationship's not my thing.
Now you tell me you want to f---, we’d still be best friends though,
I swear I felt what a schmuck!
wondering whether to grieve for you totally crushed my dreams;
or rejoice would no longer be part of your schemes...
