Fragment
Slowly the thin blade sliced her ivory skin
I watched filled with impotence and fear
I reach for her
She pulls away and curses me
"Baby." I speak plainly as a thin river of red rolls down her arm
I shake
I cry
Her rage turned inward carves another slice
I grab the blade and hold her arms
In that moment, her eyes met mine
I knew
She knew
"Please?" I beg her
I am refused as she turns from me
leaving small drops of rose red on the pavement
like small kisses goodbye
