Found and Lost
I needed someone to talk to
and found only myself
I had a moment of thought too
but I kept it to myself
I wanted that uplifting praise
and found it in myself
I gave everything in many ways
but left nothing for myself.
Am I selfish for being selfless
Am I heartless for being a hard mess
This is not easy
This is not fun
This was supposed to last
This was supposed to be the one
The clock is not on my side
The hands are ticking with pride
The explosion is at its peak
The damage is showing as I speak
I gave everything in many ways
and lost more than just myself
I wanted that uplifting praise
and with it I ruined myself
I had a moment of thought too
but I didn't keep it to myself
I needed someone to talk to
and I couldn't even hear myself.
