We used to talk every night For an hour, before you left And then it happened One carnation sent, that’s all it took And honestly, I thought You liked me back But you didn’t, did you? I talked to you the next day But you didn’t want to talk I couldn’t tell Texting can’t show what you really think I didn’t know you were with your family That didn’t mean you had to shut me out But you did, didn’t you? That’s why today I talk to you again And say “How have you been?” But you won’t answer, will you? Of course not You won’t answer Because you never have
