Fly Away
Running across a meadow,
she stumbles.
Praying to God to mend her,
Give her enough strength to fly.
Shattered wings,
She falls to the ground,
She's no angel,
And everyone knows.
A simple mistake,
A large flaw,
They see it all,
And all she can do is apologize.
She has fallen,
So far from grace,
But all they do is watch,
And criticize her every move.
It hurts her,
Every time she falls,
Every blow she takes,
They will never know.
She prays for mended wings,
And sometimes a mended heart,
Hope.
Its all she has left.
With shattered wings,
She attempts to fly,
Only to fall once again,
And get back up.
Maybe this time she will fly,
Only for you she will,
Running across a meadow,
She never gives up.
...Maybe this time she's gonna fly solo.
