Flip

Flip.

Once there was a fish named Flip
Who went and took a notion
To ask those other older fish
To tell him 'what’s the ocean?'
He’d read about it in his books
But no matter where he looked
And man he did look endlessly
But could not find the sea.

The other fish just looked at him
And told him all together
Don’t worry about this sort of thing
Just study be more, clever.
Then Flip, he asked an old, old fish
Who smiled and told him gaily
“Oh Flip you’re living in the ocean
It’s with you lad and daily”

But when Flip told the other fish
Just what that wise fish said
They laughed at him derisively
And said “he’s off his head”
And they all beat that wise fish up
For the nonsense that he talked.
Then turned and chased young Flip away
For they knew what they’d been taught!!!
