Flame Has Now Gone Out
A flame once burned
Deep within my soul
Love we both yearned
Now I am no longer whole
God took that flame away
Left me alone to slowly die
What a price I have to pay
For loving, now I live a lie
Why take one life
When two were entwined
Was to become his wife
Why leave me behind
Now I walk alone
Write poetry and paint
Sad and so forlorn
Now living in restraint.
Live in life’s shadow
Sun I am without
Heart is full of sorrow
Flame has now gone out.
