First Love

First Love A love worn photo from within my drawer a testament to a love no more Yet your face still haunts my dreams never to depart it seems Remembering your sweet and heady smell your soft enchanting touch I knew so well No one could love you more I know I loved you more than words could show Where are those green fields that I miss those long and sultry days of bliss For there we stole a lovers sigh a loving kiss a soft goodbye A love we both could not deny even though we would not try Your voice still whispers in the wind a promise never to rescind To love each other evermore till again we meet at heaven's door What folly was it then we made lying in that cool green glade For alas...I lost you to another sadly gone was my first lover Though ....but for dreams we are apart you'll always dwell within my heart Never, never to depart Author: Mary Thompson Dec. 2000
