Fiona's Song
Slow my heart as autumn is coming
and I'm crossing the street just to meet you.
Your eyes never end in green and in glass,
and the ring on your finger is heavy and new.
The sky is just the right contrast of colors
to frame you under the still burning leaves
I'm hoping you're humming my favorite song
while under your breath my lost harmony frees
Souls locked and leaning like the trees scolding winter
with our arms intertwined and immersed
in the rhythm of the gait of our bundled up feet
still finishing one another's thoughts unrehearsed
When does the artist become her lost song?
You're feeling dark and I now feel it too,
but we'll sort out the details in the still brilliant air
and leave the remains for the winter to sort through
Your voice will always be steady to me
and I know that I'll find you if lost
The winter is known for it's soulless kidnapping
while deep in anxiety we crackle with frost
So let's relish this moment of purity breathing
Let's wish like the sky isn't raining with leaves
For one more fine moment the sunshine is shining
and it's there for the taking for the one who believes...
