Fight for Art

She was an artist with a thirst for magenta,
bound by the brush and rich hues painting
the same way her mother painted on her
feet paying her dues.
Give her the brush, rags and linseed or
she'll faint or suffocate with out the cool
feel of fresh oil on her hands working it
like a jewel.
Her subjects the inbuilt feelings of life
calling to every cell that stirs. Built in
power to personify time calling a beacon
of hope to every bone that stirs, wrangling
every breath gone cool. Light lives to touch
her eyes when there is no other way to
find perfection, it is a gift of her soul
fighting for art sake.
