Far Away
left the one I could have loved, left in haste to be with you,
now too late I realize, the worst mistake I’ve ever done.
said you and I will never part, I’ll never be alone,
you should win a prize, for the biggest tale ever spun.
the promises you made, all turned to dust it seems,
as I awoke to understand, your masterful charade.
no escaping what I’ve done, but I must try to find a way,
to get back to the one I left, undo the damage I have made.
you will find the outcome of your lies, will one day bring you pain,
history will again repeat, it has been written many times.
and if I could I would undo, each moment spent with you,
undo them one by one, redo my life until it rhymes.
someone whispered soon you plan, to join another one you met,
another one that soon will fall, for all the sweetness you portray.
and if it’s true you’re moving on, I only have one final wish,
wherever it is that you will stay, I hope and pray it’s far away.
