Eyes of a Liar
You're just another lesson,
Just another lie,
Just another gap
In my timeline.
I thought you were everything,
I believed in your forever,
I thought we were meant to be,
I thought we'd last together.
Your kisses were sweet,
Gentle to the touch.
Between you and me,
I miss that rush.
My stomach fluttered
When I looked into your eyes,
But I looked at a mask,
Your sickening disguise.
I was surrounded by fear,
Weakness and lies.
But I only saw devotion
When I looked into your eyes.
Those deep blue eyes
That drew me in closer.
I needed those eyes.
Looking in them for closure.
They always spoke the truth,
Your true feelings for me.
One thing I didn't notice
Was that you were a cheat.
I can't say I don't care
Because I always will.
But not like I did,
That would just kill.
I'll find that feeling of safety,
Of love and security.
I'll find that incredible person
That won't betray me.
