Eyes of a Child
Life is often more tender and mild,
When seen through the eyes of a child
Their innocence takes me by the heart,
To think that’s where we all start.
But just look what we have become.
Often depressing and partially numb.
I hope they stay just the way they are.
Always in search of that distant star.
Loving with out any fear,
And looking at life , vivid and clear.
I guess the gives us children to open our hearts and mind,
To a part of ourselves we had long ago left behind.
Because although their thoughts are simple, they are true.
They don’t know the hesitation or fear that you and I do.
For they love with out holding any thing back,
And experience a simple joy that you and I lack.
They are truly untamed and wild.
And I thank God for showing me the world through
The eyes of a child.
