Exploding Flowers

Exploding Flowers Spring is a mine field filled with exploding flowers Blood reds and yellows shoot forth to score the land Seeds have no brains to think of Such things are beyond their grasp Broadcasting themselves about on random wind Sharing life with natures chirping birds Roots hid in bunkers, their truth, their beauty Underworld, motionless, in brown earth and gravel Waiting for the sun or rain to call their name Soon, along green grass, emergencies arise Bright colors climbing from within On veracious vines, hungry to find out They take the ground by storm March over barren lands, spreading brilliance Conquer the new dawn day in light Trees are above, on top of things in spring Always there to cast a perfect shadow On shady characters in disguise Flowers rise, simply sit there pretending to be shy Looking pretty, flushed with color Exploding with an ****** of seeds All the while smiling on the care free breeze *(This poem is not for the Flower contest. It is simply for pleasure.)

Good morning Dr. Sharma. Thank you so much for your kind words and your encouragement. I gave up rhyming when I was 7 years old. I do it for Poetry Soup from time to time to simply get a message out. I wanted to keep this particular poem in its purest form. Rhyming would contaminate it. That is why it is not going in the contest. I appreciate your support. Have a great day. Take care. Earl

You paint a picture with words that bring your images alive in the reader’s mind, and we too can appreciate the charm of flowers in their purity as a part of nature. The images are clear and the theme is constant throughout the piece. Good work. Emile. #7

Hi Jan, I hope things are going good with you. Thank you for your kind comments. As you know, I'm not really into rhyming so I did not enter the flower poetry contest but I was in the mood for something flower oriented. Glad you liked it. Have a great night. Earl
