Everyday, Like Clock Work

Every day. A daily occurrence, a daily ordeal. Like clockwork, But you held the dial. You held the amount of time, The time of what was always an eternity. You took everything that was once mine. The timing was always precise, Tick Tock, Every night you rolled the dice. Tick Tock. Perhaps house, Or a foam pillow fort, You were a louse, Who needed to be dragged into court. Your labored breath, I always prayed for my death. Tick Tock, It was like clock work. Every day. Just because my mother, was at work. Nothing against your own, She was truly the best, But she surely had known, The possibility of her son's arrest. But that never occurred, After all that I had endured.. Everyday like clock work, No matter baseball, basketball, or football, "Remember, always after homework." House was your favorite game, It was what you always suggested to play, Right after we picked our new name, It was always night, and never day. Tick, tock It never mattered how many times I would pray, Everyday like clock work, There I was forced to lay. Every single day. A bitter sweat, Something I can never forget. ...A work in progress...

Mari De, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@
