Every Man For Mankind

Strung out on stress. O.D. on bliss. Hungover from whine. Even the gorilla breathing down my neck has a monkey on it's back. Money is so tight, the Jones are jonesin'. Times are so tough the stock market asked if it could krash on my couch. Warfare to welfare to farewell to fair-weathered friends. Handouts to bailouts. Secured, locked in to..."Security!" locked out. From raising children in the land of milk and honey, to "Honey there's no milk for the children." Preserve a dollar, close a school. It's not like the future depends on the youth. Preserve an idea, close a mind. It's not like the youth depends on a future. My point...is not to point. My solutions is to SHARE. Share the blame. Share the guilt. Share the hope. Share the wealth. Share what you have. Share what you don't. Haven't you noticed? We're all in this together.

Man, am I relieved. I had noticed all the issues subjected to your clever phrasing and sarcasm which led me to wonder if you also had a handful of solutions. I don't care for *itch, *itch, *itch from someone who hasn't also an idea or hint for positive change. You have both and that will keep your writes from becoming boring clones. I am not much on free verse, love good rhyme, but I am truly enjoying your well-expressed wit ... CayCay
