Etched In My Heart

I etched our initials in a maple tree, surrounded by a heart Nine and in love, smitten by the way you looked at me, smiled at me, talked with me ... so beautifully friendly The tiger lily flower you gave me, placed in my hand, made this boy feel like a man Held in your hand was my butterfly heart Fluttering ... ready to chase after you across daffodil fields of time You never did become my silken winged mate, but for a brief while it seemed that you would be the only one I could ever love Young childish thoughts wrapped in cocoon innocence I loved many since, but none can ever feel like the first love ... that sweet first taste of love Forever etched in my heart are virgin memories of you

Did you invent the love poem? I inscribed the same thing on the jacaranda tree outside now I have to go put an arrow through. ...

First loves are over-rated, its true loves that are important. Now if a first love becomes a true love and that true love becomes eternal love- well its a surefire, grand-slam! Great poem, a pleasure to read tonight!A7

I certainly remember every one of mine, Freddie. My first at age 5, her name was Debbie:) My first serious one was at age 15, I still think about her everyday. We dated for 3 years in high school. Great poem, brings back a lot of memories:)

Ha ha ha. I hear you, Cheryl. I'm not buying the Brady Bunch routine either. If that was the case, they wouldn't have both got a divorce from their first spouses. Fake all the way. Love you, lady.
