Epiphany
When time touches eternity
For that fleeting moment
Heaven is in our hearts.
How soon that ecstasy
Fades
That brief flash of immortality
Leaving us chained to flesh
And time.
In such enlightenment
Belief breathes again
To spark the hope
We need to go on.
Yet we can be plunged
Deep into despair
That pit so steep
That many cannot
Escape from
This is the torment of Hell
An all-consuming agony
Devouring their very being
Pray that you be not
Trapped in this plight
But flee the rot
That you may see the light.
