I felt for him such sympathy Because too late he had the epiphany Of realizing just what a good thing he had After she left him for being treated so bad Sometimes the light comes on too late The epiphany only magnifies our mistake The question is, “Was the lesson learned” Or, once again will we have to get burned But we can learn from one another’s flaws Was my own epiphany as I recall And that girl that left him with a shattered life Is now the angel that I call my lovely wife By Joe Flach, written and posted on July 27, 2013 for the “Glimpses of Epiphany” contest.
