Enemy at the Gates

sent to the slaughter
caught between levels of hell...
neither one he chose

he lay amidst death
destiny arrived on time
alive…it chose him

I have never seen this movie. I believe your two senryu entries have described it well.

Thanks for your kind comments on my recent poem. Bards for millenia have personified 'death' and 'destiny'. You have aptly followed their lead. A thought-provoking battle scene.

Dear Sara, it's about WWII..when Russia was defending herself against Hitler's invasion-officers knew they couldn't hold positions but would send in the young "untrained" recruits to be killed and if they refused they were shot instantly.this one recruit (Jude Law) played dead, lying amongst the dead waiting to escape. Finally a brave Russian..not a soldier, managed to sneak in at which time, they both discovered each other, and so began the young recruit's road to glory..he became a famous sharp shooter known nationwide for killing hundreds of nazi officers. It's an old movie- 2009, I think

Smile ˜ I do not know exactly why this makes me laugh but, it has myself smiling from ear to ear * Yet, I Am somewhat certain that, many others definitely it seems may be doing so much sooner perhaps than they believe & or wish ˜ Very profound & quite prophetic * My love to You always, John!:) ˜
