Oh Luna, with enchantment in night sky… You gaze down from above with silver eye. I fondly view your phases night by night Enjoying most when you are filled with light. To find your bright reflection on the sea Enthralls emotions deep inside of me. Under your spell, you share in love’s sweet bliss, I wonder who you will compel to kiss. Let me roam the gardens in your soft light. Romance me now as clouds obscure your sight. Yes, every time your sphere is full or new You cause desire or cause one to be blue. So Luna do your best, my lover waits… We’ll leave our love to you, and not the Fates. © Connie Marcum Wong (Non-traditional Sonnet) *Fates: Greek & Roman Mythology The three goddesses, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos, who control human destiny. Written during the full moon March 23rd.

Amazing love letter to Luna. I'm going to share it with my full-moon-loving bride next Wednesday as we are watching Luna rise over the Eastern hills. Such a gorgeous sonnet, Connie, going in my faves.

Connie, this is such a beautiful piece. Like you, I am a Moon lover for she is the Queen of Romance! I love the imagery, rhythm, and flow of this exquisite piece and it deserves a 7! Love, Pandita.

Thank you very much Pandita. The soft light, the mystery that romances the soul urges. You are right, I do have such fondness for the moon, especially here where the skies are clear. Love, Conniexx

Somehow I missed this beauty and the many charms of the moon. Now I know who the fates were. Love, daver

I have a likeness of them hanging on my wall. I am sure you have seen them Daver, you just may have not noticed who they were. Thank you. Earth as we know it could not exist without our moon. Love, Connie ; )

Enchanting poem round both form and content.Congrat. Amassing rhymes deep as sea and me...contrasting like night and light , pleasant like sweet bliss and kiss, turned to hope like a long waiting for/longing (In my language, the word for aspiration and nostalgia: dor) and beyond the fate.

"Yes, every time your sphere is full or new You cause desire or cause one to be blue" .... She sure has enthralled people over the ages, with her mystery and her longing. A mesmerizing sonnet, Connie. I've noticed most of the sonnets I've read on the Soup follow the AABB rhyme scheme (I've always thought of them as ABAB) ... I guess it doesn't super matter since there's so many varieties of sonnet rhyme schemes. I've always liked the Cornish one.

I agree Timothy, that is why I stated below my poem that it is a non-traditional Sonnet. I have written a few varieties, but many I have seen on PS have been non-traditional ones. Thank you for your nice comments, ; )

Thank you very much Mark. It is not one of my best, but I just felt like writing a moon poem while the moon was full. ; )

I was Andrea. It is more of a couplet than a Sonnet which is why I have mentioned it is a non-traditional Sonnet. Glad you enjoyed it. I know is is not one of my better poems but I just felt like writing about the moon. ; )
