Empty Nest

I can't wait to have that empty nest that peace and quiet days of rest texts and emails can tell that everyone is doing well I can sit in the garden and text you back enjoy the quiet ice tea and a book I'd have the dog all to myself maybe I'll get another him a companion I'll enjoy the order a little less dust time to myself daydreamings a must I will think a whole thought without interruption make love any time of day in every room without fear of discovery (that could be the best part) we'll be like teenagers all over the house when, again, are you all getting out?

I know, I know all about the silence etc, but I am sick up to here of all the work and problem solving. Tme for them to be out doing on their own. I'll miss them, but not that much! I am looking forward to me time, and to watching them fly away on their own and continue their journey.

Veronica, LOL It's a dream!!! But they do come back... OFTEN, if you're luck. You'll miss it. And even though, the nest is empty, you'll miss the days when they were home... even the difficult ones. As for discovery... well, the whispers will stop. I love this poem. It is FUN!!! Enjoy them now because the empty nest syndrome is less hectic, but real. Lovingly, Dane (PS This one goes to favorites!)

Veronica - You know I had a few years in the SHU in Prison with 23 hrs. of solitude a day - Changed the man I was forever because that was when the Lord set me free - Always be careful for that which you ask - God Bless you - MJ
