See Emma swinging on her new swing set.

She calls out “Look at me” so happily.

No worries does she have in her life yet.

See Emma swinging on her new swing set.

Small legs keep pumping. How high can she get?

If only every child so glad could be.

See Emma swinging on her new swing set.

She calls out “Look at me” so happily.

Like many of your poems, light-hearted and happy. There is something immensely pleasing and joyous about seeing a child happy and exuberant about life. I believe you have described that excellently. So far as I know, you are the only person that has read and commented on all of my poems. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unfailing devotion to them, and frequently relating admiration. It means so much to a beginner like me.

Sweet little children, making world's their own. Soon enough the day's will come when they will say they're grown. Till those day's it's awfully nice to watch them be a child. Knowing all too well the world ourselve's. and how it has beguiled. Very sweet poem Andrea. Children sure can tug at the heart strings. Peace. :)

Hi Andrea, this is a delightful poem, it brought back some lovely memories of my own childhood swinging on the swing in my backyard. Yes, I heard about Linda-Marie from Jack, he sent me an email and I went to your blog, I went to the guest book and left a note for the family. You know I never actually met Linda-Marie but we were on line buddies on poetry soup for years and then nothing, so I am thankful you found out what became of her, it truly shattered my heart, although I suspected something serious had happened. I do not have soup mail by choice. I have been having eye problems again and that is why I have not been around the soup much but things are improving now so hopefully I can get back to posting poems, I have ideas and words swirling in my head. Love Constance

Andrea you asked the question on my sonnet and my answer is this, this is the sonnet I entered for Debbies contest and it was rejected, so you will do fine, read my soup to you my friend....step outside and breathe look at the moon, listen to the wind and you will hear me applauding you...David
