Embrace My Day

Embrace my day With warm cool night Sprinkle shattered darkness Where holy light cannot Escape for fear that Mangled knowledge could Misinterpret a fabled past I cannot scream Yet hunkered in deep, gentle sleep Lies the unwarranted yet welcomed Thoughts that most wish To erase from splendid air Try me Try me As I wake these strangers To join me In a raucous, despicable feast That even diets cannot hold I am moderate at first Teasing, tasting The crumbs which forge the meal Chewing I swirl juicy shards a plenty Ensuring that full-bodied flavor Is appreciated in the way Its chefs intended I raise my hand Requesting to leave For I am full They stare down my gesture With the glare of those who know Insisting I remain Sympathizing with my pain Because they know I'll never forgive them For allowing me To miss this Just dessert.
