But November Wept

January first First buried in snow Never to recover from winter February cold February with its love And gone to such a winter release There was a March March with spring flowers Gone in the shadow of April well spent And a May May with its showers But now deep and gone to dust Then came June June with her weddings Replaced with July firecrackers Then there was August August bringing fresh starts And dreaded new beginnings September came to soon September cool With Autumn on its wings In swept October With early snow And harvest to bring in crops Then November brought her children And all the world shut its doors Then all the winter fell in sorrow and snow, As November wept Wept for the years all spent And December yet to come ©Copyright 2015.
